Latinx Businesses for Tejas

A couple of years after finishing college (many years ago) I visited my friend in Houston, Texas.  I remember the intense humidity, the great restaurants and how spread out and populated Houston was.

When I kept on seeing images popping up in my Facebook feed from friends and the news of the devastation Harvey has caused, I could not imagine that city and the surrounding towns under water.

We've been praying and we can't do much from California except for raising money.

Booklandia has joined the Latinx Project and will donate 10% of the profit from our subscription service and items in La Tiendita from now till Sunday, September 3rd, 2017.

Donations will go to RAICES is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency that promotes justice by providing free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees in Central and South Texas.

Many undocumented Texans are in fear of getting refuge from this crisis in their hometowns.  People should feel safe no matter what their citizenship status is.

Donations will also go to The Texas Diaper Bank  Disaster Relief agencies do not supply families with diapers.  So many children under the age of 3 are affected by this disaster.

Let's work together!

If you know of other ways to help those affected by Harvey, please comment below.

We're stronger together!

un abrazo,

Maceo
